Monica Ngozi Odinko has been involved in research from post graduate days (as master and doctoral student) which she concluded in 2007. She has researched on psychological and social factors that affect learners achievement, (Management Training Programmes including teacher education as it affects classroom dynamics, stress management among teachers undergoing in-service training), Continuous Assessment, Educational Research and Evaluation. She has participants in the following: Data collection on how Nigerian children learn, (UNESCO), Commonwealth of Universities research sponsorship tenable in the U.K. (2003 - 2007), University of Ibadan Senate research grant (2010) and several self-sponsored and collaborated research undertaking and mentoring of students in research. Monica Ngozi Odinko has been also a resource person to UNICEF/ Federal Ministry of Education Nigeria(development of early learning standard) and monitoring.
