Joel B. Babalola (PhD 1988, University of Ibadan), Professor of Educational Management (Economics of Education and Planning), University of Ibadan, Ibadan where he served as the Sub-Dean (Undergraduate) between 1991 and 1993, Head of Educational Planning and Policy Unit, (1999-2001), Acting Head of Department, (20012003) and Dean of Education, University of Ibadan, Ibadan [2009-2011]. He was a Visiting Professor and the founding Head of Department at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode (2006). He served as External Examiner in several universities including University of Botswana, Gaborone.

His community engagements include consultation for governmental and non-governmental organizations such as the British Council, Zambia Education Rehabilitation Project and the World Bank, Social Science Research Council and Association of African Universities on research agenda for African Higher Education, UNICEF, UBEC 8- (2010), ETF Tertiary Education Funding (2008), UNESCO, Niger SUBEC-UNICEF project on militancy and education (20100, UNICEF/Oyo State Education Strategic Plan (2010), UBECFTS (2010), Trust Africa (2010), and African Union-ACALAN (2011), Ekiti State's Education Summits (2011), and Oyo State's Education Summits (2011). He has won a number of fellowships and awards and has been a member of several professional associations. He has 104 publications.
