Foluke Florence Fatimayin holds a Ph.D. in English Language Education. She is a trained teacher with a broad knowledge and experience in teacher education and applied linguistics. She has been involved in many collaborative initiatives and studies within Nigeria that has helped to drive needed change in achieving equity and access for both sexes and especially the girl-child. Dr Fatimayin has worked as a teacher, researcher, resource person and voluntary community health advocate. She has more than fifteen year experience in the application of different ways of teaching English language and reading generally. She is currently a lecturer with the National Open University of Nigeria where she is leading a team of advocacy for girl-child education, women empowerment and education for street children using among others, open and distance learning as a tool. Dr Fatimayin has published articles in referred journals and belongs to many professional bodies including the African Council for Distance Education and the National Council for Teachers of English
