The thrust of Prof. Aladejana's research is in the area of science education where she has contributed immensely to the improvement of science teaching and learning. She has been able to identify various factors that can impede effective learning of science: identification of alternative conceptions that can hinder the learning of Genetics in particular, provided evidence for pedagogic value and cultural imperativeness of Yoruba mother tongue as well as indigenous knowledge, innovative ways of learning science, analysis and in-depth review of factors that can affect science teaching and learning such as the classroom environment, gender issues, teacher factors, classroom dynamics, and the curriculum. Prof. Aladejana has dealt extensively too into the areas of gender studies, ICT in teaching and learning and HIV/AIDS.
