Adams Otuoze Umoru Onuka has been involved in research from his days as a doctoral student which he concluded in 1996. He has researched on Management Education (Management Training Programmes including Higher Education and Funding), Distance Learning Management and Achievement, Continuous Assessment, and Educational Research and Evaluation. Adams Otuoze Umoru Onuka has participated in the following research undertakings:

  • Data collection and part of the report writing WORDOC/UNESCO Girl Child situation analysis (1994-5)
  • National Education Assessment Programme (NECO/Institute of Education, UI 2006)
  • TVE (AfBD sponsored, 2009 data collection)
  • IFRA sponsored Church Management and Finance project on Winners' Chapel-Nigeria and Ghana (2005-6)
  • UI sponsored Fund Mobilisation & Utilisation (2006-2011)
  • Needs Assessment of University of Ibadan Staff's and Students' Readiness for Use of ICTs 
  • several self-sponsored and collaborated research undertakings and mentoring of students in research.

Adams Otuoze Umoru Onuka has been also a research consultant to NERDC (writing a research report) and NABTEB (research report and methodology and evaluation of research reports) respectively and involved in some researches published by WAEC. He has also participated in assessment of NTI/MDGs Training programmes since 2009. He has worked solo and in Teams, been mentored by senior colleagues and mentoring junior colleagues and research students from different Nigerian Universities and elsewhere
