This purpose of study is to examine the factors that influence secondary school students' choice of Islamic studies in Kwara State of Nigeria. A four likert- type of questionnaire was used as an instrument for the collection of data. Seven hundred and fifty copies of the questionnaire were administered in all the selected secondary schools. A simple percentage system was used to analyse and interpret the result obtained. The results showed that the factors influencing secondary school students' choice of Islamic studies include the following: parents’ attitude to the subject, peer influence, prospect of Islamic studies, school and counsellors among others. Sequel to the findings in this study the study recommended that the government should make religion studies such as ISS a compulsory subject and ensure that only qualified teachers are employed to teach the subject.
